Business Improvement Grant Scheme

A Business Improvement Grant Scheme is in place to assist Largs BID businesses. Grants will be considered for a wide range of initiatives designed to enhance businesses, and where similar financial assistance is not available from other sources, such as, e.g. North Ayrshire Council.

The BID Business Improvement Grant panel will consider any application made which is supported by a sound business case and which is within the terms of the Business Improvement Grant scheme; for example:-
• Specialised equipment
• Staff uniforms (excluding mandatory clothing such as Personal Protective Equipment required for duty of care for employees – unless as part of a rebranding exercise)
• Improvements to business premises (internal/external). NB may require landlord approval

Grants will fund up to 50% of approved applications, up to a total grant of £500, with BID members paying the balance of the business improvement cost.

 

Largs Matters Directors Eric McMillan and John Corrigan worked with BID Manager John Hamilton to develop the scheme. Eric McMillan said, “This opportunity of match funding may allow forward thinking businesses to undertake projects that they’ve wanted to do, but not had the resources to implement.” John Corrigan added, “The grant process is straightforward and we will make a funding decision on each application within a week, allowing BID members to proceed with improvements that could make a difference.”
